Important notes

• Tell your practitioner/artist you’re using a numbing cream before your appointment.
• Do not use more than 3 consecutive days.
• Do not combine with a second numbing cream (can reduce effectiveness).
• For best performance use within 2 weeks of opening and keep the lid tightly closed (product can dry out if not sealed properly).

Numbing Cream: Guidance for Aesthetic Treatments

Patch test (24 hours before)

Skin sensitivity and absorption vary, so a patch test is strongly recommended 24 hours before use.

• Apply a small amount to clean, unbroken skin

• Check for any redness, itching, swelling, stinging, or irritation

If the patch test doesn’t numb effectively, contact us before trying again. Using it again within 24 hours without support can reduce performance and may lead to inconsistent results.

Before you apply

• External use only

• If you take other medication or have any medical conditions, consult your GP/pharmacist

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before use

• Do not apply to infected, irritated, or damaged skin unless a qualified professional advises it

Pre-treatment application (unbroken skin)

1. Wash hands thoroughly.

2. Remove excess hair if needed.

3. Ensure the skin is clean, dry, and warm (not cold).

4. Apply a thick, even layer (around 2–3mm) across the treatment area.

   • Do not rub it in.

5. Cover with plastic film/cling film, sealed/airtight (snug, not tight).

   • This helps limit evaporation and supports gradual absorption.

6. Wash hands again after application.

7. Leave for 1.5–2 hours maximum.

   • Do not exceed 2 hours.

8. Remove film and wipe/clean the area prior to treatment (your practitioner may do this).

Areas where film is difficult: film is ideal, but performance can vary without it depending on location.

Large areas: if appropriate, remove film in sections to help maintain numbness.

During-treatment top-up (one re-application maximum)

To help reduce infection risk, only one re-application is recommended, and only when it suits the treatment plan.

If a top-up is needed:

1. Wash hands thoroughly

2. Ensure the area is clean, dry, and not cold

3. Apply a thick layer (2–3mm) — don’t rub in

4. Cover with film, sealed but not tight

5. Wash hands again

6. Leave for 15–20 minutes

7. Remove film and wipe clean
